ABOUT THE HORRORTONES
The idea is simple really. You take a bunch of musicians that play in all different types of bands and you create a rock’n’roll soul party cover band.
No one really is ever a permanent member. People come, people go. You can play for one song, one gig or maybe more… the deal is anyone can be play on the night (if there’s room).
If you don’t understand what we do or why we do it I recommend researching the history of Australian band The Party Boys whilst listening to The Dirtbombs’ “Ultraglide In Black”.
These recordings have taken a while to come to the surface. Some are songs that we play live all the time, some were learnt for a recording session. We recorded it over a couple of sessions in the home of Jamie Trevakis. We filled out bedrooms, lounge rooms and all without airconditioning in the middle of a Brisbane heat wave.
We chose these songs because they are fun. Some you might know… some are actually covers of covers! You can argue that some aren’t even soul songs but they do sound like us. They sound like you want to drink, dance and act like a fool. Because that my friend is essentially the sound of The Horrortones.

Muck, blood, limp d*cks, alcoholism, and s**c*d*l ideation...
All these dirty topics delivered with gritty SUPER low-fi recording techniques.
If I weren't completing a collection of my favorite bands' LPs, I wouldn't bother with this one.
Only good to play at loud parties where folk are already in a dancing mood. Dagmar
